Ricky Christmas Night 2019

On Friday night we took part in the annual Ricky Christmas Night and transformed our office into a grotto for the children. We served mulled mine & mince pies to the adults, whilst the children entered our magical grotto, to meet Santa and receive a present from him- an advent calendar, just in time for 1st December!

We launched our Santagram campaign on the night too. This involved getting a photo with Santa & the elves in the big frame, uploading their photo on social media and tagging ‘Sewell & Gardner’ & writing the hashtag #santaselfie.

This was encouraged to adults by our elves when taking photos of their children in the grotto. Throughout the night we posted on our Instagram account and shared the stories of the public who had taken part in the Christmas campaign. We received great feedback on this idea and it added a nice touch to our grotto which the kids loved!

Another activity which members of the public enjoyed was the Christmas window card competition. A class of St Mary’s primary school took part in drawing their interpretation of Santa. Members of the public got the opportunity to take part in voting for the best drawing of Santa and posting their vote through our Christmas post box.

After adding up all the votes, there is a clear winner! In 3rd place was Darcie, 2nd place was Lily and 1st place was Henning. We have to say it was a great effort from all the children and there are some real artists in the making!

Ricky night this year seemed to be very busy and we received lots of positive feedback from the public on the night. A massive well done to all the local people and businesses who were involved in the organisation. It was another great success and we hope you got a chance to pop in to enjoy the evening with us. If not then look out for us next year!
