DON’T MISS IT…!
I am sure that you all know about our very first and very own music festival, aptly entitled “Chorley Woodstock” as it is being held at The Chorleywood Club, Shepherds Lane, Rickmansworth and, obviously, it is kinda like ‘Woodstock’ the famous New York festival of peace & music!
Well it is only a week away now, so I wanted to update everyone on the running order and remind you AGAIN to get your tickets booked on-line, if you haven’t done so already…..
Tickets are priced at £5 for standard entry available here:
or £7 VIP (which includes access to the VIP area drinks being served all evening by the Sewell & Gardner hostesses (see the photo shoot & promo shots below) and VIP guests will receive a complimentary glass of bubbly, priority food access to the BBQ.
There will be a bar (club prices) & BBQ food available at selected times throughout the evening for all guests on standard entry and VIP entry tickets. All children under the age of 5 have FREE ENTRY.
So in preparation for the event, we have been visiting lots of local businesses to get raffle prizes (more of that below) and Susie Griffiths spoke at the recent Chamber of Commerce meeting and managed to drum up donations for all of the food: Burgers & sausages for 200 guests from Chris Blake Butchers in the High Street, buns and veggie food from Waitrose in Rickmansworth, salad and garnishing from J J Mays of Chorleywood, so a huge THANK YOU to these guys.
We have also been given a photography session from the wonderful and talented (because she really can make us look nice) Patrica of Image 2 Photography in Nightingale Road Rickmansworth www.image2photography.co.uk. So early last week 4 of the Sewell & Gardner lettings team, who will be hostessing the event, donned their costumes, fishnets, fake eyelashes and heels and trooped along to Patricia’s studio for our piccies to be taken.
It was great fun, a real giggle and I think we were all suitably impressed with the photographs, which will HOPEFULLY entice a few more people to part with the additional £2 to get a VIP ticket and have the pleasure of our hostess service! And by hostess service, I mean, no queuing at the bar, your drinks will be brought direct to you… hopefully you will also be taking advantage of our fabulous CHAMPAGNE offers and JELLY VODKA SHOTS – proceeds to charity, as well as 10% of all bar takings – kindly donated by The Chorleywood Club!
The raffle is stacking up brilliantly, with fabulous prizes galore, all donated from local companies, including a signed SARACENS shirt from Nina @ The Community Times Magazine, a luxury hamper from Homelet and enough bottles of drink and massage / beauty sessions to keep everyone happy!
The bands are all sorted now and they are going to be ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT. Early on, when the kids are around, there will be a children’s disco and our own Martyn Drabik will be enlisting the help of wannabe DJ Harvey Griffiths (Susie’s husband) who is dying to test out his DJ skills on the small kids! Martyn will be playing an accoustic set of popular songs, along with fellow musician Mike Lee and a friend of Sewell & Gardner Mike Pickering, young, cool and dishy! Then as the evening draws in, we have the Daytona Catchups to start off the bands, featuring the very talented Andy Pennell on bass guitar (brother of our fabulous hostess Julia Pennell). Then the fabulous Kings of Langley will take to the stage and, if anyone isn’t up on their feet, this is the time to work the floor! The KoL play loads of fabulous covers and will appeal to everyone. To finish off the evening are Brocker, who are a London up and coming Ska band and really exciting.

The event is over now and we did fantastically well, raising over £1600 for OXJAM and I shall shortly be blogging all about the event and posting lots of photos, so watch this space!!!
