We wanted to share what our new happy buyers, Sukhgeet and Devyani, love about living in their new home at The Arches:

Having rented in Wembley Park for 2 years, they decided it was time to step onto the property ladder and find their permanent home as a married couple.

With them both working as Business Consultants in London, they regularly travel to the capital for work, so always had their sights set on buying a home that provided good connections to the city. After a year of searching, they came across The Arches in Watford and ended up securing their dream 2-bedroom apartment here. New home

“Having been married for two years now, we knew we wanted a place to call our own. We were looking to buy for quite a while but never found anything that was 100% perfect and we didn’t want to settle for anything less.”

“Devyani came across The Arches online and having started our search in the midst of the pandemic, we attended a video call with St William. Just from the call, the team did a great job at giving us an idea of life at The Arches and we could really see ourselves living there. Not only was the location perfect for us but we knew we could expect a high-quality finish and specification within the property as we’d heard plenty of positive things about St William.”

Well-connected modern living

Perfectly located moments from Watford’s growing social scene, The Arches is home to a collection of 92 suites, one and two-bedroom apartments.

Sukhgeet continues: “We’ve only moved in a few months ago but we’ve really enjoyed exploring the town – despite moving during lockdown, it still has a lively feel to it.”

As part of The Arches, St William is also making public realm improvements to help provide quick and easy access to the vibrant town centre. Bushey Station

“A key appeal of The Arches for us was that we’re walking distance from Bushey Train Station, meaning we can access London in 20 minutes. It’s a speedy commute and also means we have access to all the activities, facilities and amenities the capital has to offer.’

“Being just a short walk from the high street – which has a range of chain and independent shops, as well as restaurants, cafes and bars – is great. We have everything we could ever need on the doorstep and there is also a Lidl, Tesco and Marks and Spencer’s all within walking distance as well.”

A new build proved the perfect choice

Initially, the couple kept an open mind and looked at a variety of properties but narrowed their search down after researching the benefits of buying new, including using Help to Buy.

Sukhgeet adds: “When we first visited The Arches, we were instantly impressed. Each and every detail had been carefully considered and, as first-time buyers, the Help to Buy scheme meant we only had to put down a 5% deposit, making it a much more affordable option. The idea that everything, from the flooring to the white goods was included within the cost, was also really appealing.”
