Can a Google Hangout sell your home?

Over the last couple of weeks our marketing team has been exploring the world of Google+ and, in particular, the use of hosted Hangouts, to showcase individual properties to a wider (non local) audience.

The theory is that you can showcase your properties to purchasers or investors around the UK or, indeed the world, by inviting them to participate in a ‘Hangout’ where they log into their Google+ account and can be magically transported to a Virtual Property Viewing, carried out by one of our managers or negotiators,  whilst the viewer sits at their work computer or at home with their laptop or PC.

The sales or lettings negotiator conducts a viewing of the property to a video camera and the footage is used in a Hosted Hangout, where the Sewell & Gardner member of staff participates in an event where members of the public can watch the footage and ask questions via Google+ or another social media platform, such as twitter or Facebook.  The viewer genuinely gets to see all around the property as though they are at the viewing in person and they can ask any questions live as the video plays without ever having to leave the comfort of their armchair or sofa!

Of course, in most normal instances a purchaser will want to visit the property and have a good look inside themselves, but this is not ALWAYS possible, and this is a great compromise or even just a very good starting point allowing the potential purchaser or tenant to filter down their viewing choices rather than waste many a good evening or weekend trawling around properties which are just not suitable once you are inside.

Jane is online to answer questions about the property from Hangout participants.  If you would like to know more about Hosted Hangouts, you can watch here or you can contact the marketing team on 01923 721900 or by email to hannah@sewellgardner.com.
