What a fantastic July!

July was a really busy month across our sales, lettings and new homes!  Having achieved 40 instructions in residential sales in comparison to 19 this time last year, registered 479 applicants compared to 265 this time last year and agreed 26 deals in comparison to 21, we can confidently confirm the market is buzzing and we are moving into August feeling positive!

Much of the uptake in interest in sales can be put down to the announcement of the stamp duty holiday until 31st March 2020. The stamp duty threshold has been increased to £500,000, meaning that movers can save up to £15,000. As expected, lots of people are looking to take advantage of this and get moving before March.

In July we sold a selection of properties within less than a week of them coming to the market, with a few of them receiving multiple offers over asking price. Realistically priced properties are receiving record high interest levels and getting snapped up very quickly. We also had a completion on Canterbury Road, Watford, in July that went through in just 49 days from offer to move in, so if you are looking to move quickly now may be the best time!

Entering August we are feeling positive about the market and are enjoying be able to physically show people round properties again, with COVID safe measures in place of course. Normality is starting to kick back in with the return of shops, companies & restaurants. We are looking forward to supporting our local restaurants with the ‘Eat Out to Help Out’ deal Monday-Wednesday, will you be eating out too? Lots of delicious local restaurants are offering it so make sure you don’t miss out.
