On Sunday 25th March we took part in the Sports Relief mile to help raise money for a
wonderful cause. Sport Relief brings the entire nation together to get active, raise cash
and change lives. So far the Sport Relief total stands at £52,070,587.
We could not have asked for a better day to be running around the Rickmansworth Aquadrome, the sun was shining and a huge crowd of people turned up to take part or to support the runners. At 10.30am our sportier team members, Rickmansworth Sales Negotiators John Simpson and Jackie Scott turned up to run 3 miles and did a fantastic job completing it in no time! At 12.30pm our Chorleywood team, Martyn Drabik, Vanessa Harker and I, along with ours dogs and families, turned up to run the mile.
We are very proud to say Vanessa’s son Jacob Harker came in 3rd place out of all the hundreds of runners, and our office dog Barney was the first dog to cross the finish line! I decided to take our 13 year old cairn terrier dog along for the jog who unfortunately couldn’t keep up with the younger team members, so we fell behind and came in just before the three legged elephant! Nonetheless I was very proud of Tarzan the dog for running it with me.
Thank you to all those who sponsored us, we raised £408 in total. It was a great day and we look forward
to doing it again in 2 years time!
