This year the town is set for more than 6000 local residents to attend the 2nd Star Light evening on Friday 30th November, the event which replaced the Victorian Evening in 2011.
After some teething troubles in 2011 with the placement of the stage in Station Road and the difficulty of the parade to manoeuver the crowded High Street, this year some changes have been put in place. The stage will now be in the front carpark of Watersmeet Theatre and the Children’s Musical Star Light Parade will set off from the junction of the High Street and Church Street, by the library, at 6pm.
Children from schools and clubs all over Rickmansworth are joining the parade to showcase their singing and musical talents, along with a marching band and festive piper. If you have a club or children’s group who would like to participate, please contact Carly from The Cafe in the Park, who is organising the parade. Carly can be contacted on carly@thecafeinthepark.com.
The High Street will be full of 25 market stalls, with many of the High Street shops opening to sell their wares including some hot food & drinks stalls, Santas grotto, Rickmansworth Fire Brigade & St Johns Ambulance. Plenty of entertainment and fun to be had including the voting for our Sewell & Gardner ‘Draw us a Christmas Card’ competition, open to children of Junior School age, with a prize of an ANNUAL LEGOLAND PASS (for 2 adults and 2 children). All of the entries will be displayed in our lettings office at 103a High Street and voting slips will be available for you to pick your favourite. Anyone who would like to enter and wants more information, please click here: info@sewellgardner.com. If you would like to hire a stall (cost £40) please use the previous link and contact us asap.
At the far end of the High Street and utilising Marks & Spencer car park will be the Annual Fun Fair organised by Brixton Funfairs along with the ever popular craft stalls of The Little Fox Market (in the Fox & Hounds gardens).
We hope that you will all come along and light up our wonderful town. Please feel free to pop into our offices for a glass of mulled wine (or two)…!
