Introducing Neil Spencer

Having left school wanting to be an interior designer I set about studying various art focused subjects at sixth form before heading to university in Portsmouth to study something slightly different in property marketing, design and development. 2 years later, I, like most grads, found a quick job which for me was a bar role at a private golf course in Surrey where I grew up. A year later I was the Assistant Catering Manager working all sorts of hours and dreaming of working in property. I approached a well run estate agents in The City of London and have since then worked solidly in lettings for various independent and corporate companies for 13 years. Having started as a negotiator I worked up to Manager, Senior Branch Manager and Director roles before joining Sewell & Gardner in 2018 to head up their Lettings department.

I was offered roles in London yet the appeal of working with Alex Sewell and this already well known and well regarded family run company outweighed the hustle and bustle of London life. I’m as excited now as I was when I first sat down with Alex and so much has been achieved this year. My remit was to make lettings my own and create a different service that stands out from our competitors. I have looked at the lettings department with fresh eyes and this has allowed me to create a comprehensive and slick service for our clients and tenants. Many agents forget that the tenant is your customer whilst a landlord is your client. This means I wanted to treat both in the same way as good service and feedback is imperative whoever it is from. This forward thinking and streamlined approach stretches to the systems we use and the partners we work with. We utilise intuitive software, market leading referencing and digital signatures for our paperwork and inventories all to make the tenant and landlords lives easier.

The next few months are imperative and we are delighted to have had a great response from new and old clients and tenants happy with our proactive and personal approach.  May this continue for many years and we once again become an award winning department.
