Woke up at 1.30am, 3am and 5.30am! I have a 3 year old and a 3 week old so hopefully that explains that. 4 in a bed is the normal morning occurrence round the Rylett’s household now.
Once Orla has been fed her coco pops and is ready for school and Aoife has finished messing up my shirt ( thank god for wet wipes ) I am off to work!
An estate agents day is like anyone else’s. Varied and hectic!
The huge benefit of now working in Watford means my journey to work is around 4 minutes. None of the above would probably take place if I was still working in Rickmansworth.
So I get to work at around 8.10-8.15am. Open up, get the swing board out , roll the blinds, take the newspaper box out and then get the kettle on. My other staff start to bound in ready for a morning meeting at 8.30am. New instructions, valuations and offers discussed. Call lists agreed and away we go! Sun is shining, morning shoppers start to appear. Cup of tea number one down.
One to one with a staff member to discuss what’s been good and what could be better and then viewings at Bellmount Wood Avenue, must get keys ready and dash. Quick cup of tea.
2 lovely couples met, 2 possible offers. Feedback given to the vendor on the spot as they were in. Happy customer.
Back to the office for val preparation. Make a few calls on the way, board needs fixing and just remembered another vendor needs an update. Asked one of my team to call.
Quick bowl of Special K and a cup of tea. Comparables done, Hometrack report prepared and off to Pumphouse Crescent.
Valuation was a success, built great rapport with the seller and will hopefully be instructed. Just needs to chat to her husband.
Back to the office and lunchtime has arrived. Quick bowl of Oxtail soup and a packet of quavers! Oh and of course another cup of tea.
Post val letter written up and given to one of my colleagues to drop off as they are going out to do some canvassing.
Now have some valuable office time to read through emails, chase some solicitors and buyers on my sales. 28 enquiries on one sale, solicitor not playing ball. Mortgage offer in on another important sale – great news – inform all parties.
Wife calls – what do you want for dinner? Anything darling – surprise me ! Orla got star of the day at school – proud dad!
Marketing meeting with my Director, Marketing Executive and other Branch Managers. More tea!! Some great ideas discussed to take back to the team.
Get stuck in traffic, time running out in the day! Get back – deal done by one of my Negotiators. House has only been on the market 2 days! Another happy customer.
Last hour of the day now and time to think – need some window cards replacing, need to call roofer to get some flashing work done to the front of the office and also need target leaflet drop areas for tomorrow.
Wife calls – when are you coming home? Soon darling!
It’s Friday night and a few early revelers are off to the pubs, I’m off home to have dinner with 3 ladies.
Good day – deal done, possible instruction, 2 potential offers and some good news on a current sale.
5 cups of tea , kept to my diet. Thinking about catching up on Ray Donovan tonight.
Tomorrow’s another day!
