New Year, New Career!

Another year has come and gone and just like each year, I feel as though I blinked and it’s whirled by like a film on fast forward.

2015 had seen many peaks for me along with a few challenges as each year always brings, and I found the most crucial challenge was realizing I had lost all passion for my job as a Learning Specialist in the Customer Service industry and felt I needed to move on to try something new. After the Christmas spirit had gone and was no longer upon us, I decided I needed to start a new adventure in a career that really excited me and made me want to get out of bed in the morning.

I always liked the idea of working in property… it has always interested me and as an upcoming first time buyer, I have spent plenty of evenings looking at different houses online or while out in the car and seeing what I could do with a property if it were mine.

And so, after a conversation with a friend who had worked for Sewell & Gardner for a couple of months, I decided that becoming a Property Consultant was worth a try, and I can honestly say it was the greatest risk I could have taken as we entered 2016. So, thank you Jamie! Smart by name, smart by nature!

I have been working for Sewell & Gardner at their Rickmansworth branch for 2 weeks and I already know I made the right decision in moving here, every day is different and dynamic and the people that I work with have been so welcoming, I feel as if I have known them a lot longer than I have. They all enjoy the work that they do which made my decision easier and they’ve learnt how I drink my tea in the morning, so that’s always a bonus, right?

Our Rickmansworth Office

Our Rickmansworth Office

An independent estate agent like Sewell & Gardner means they have time. Time to spend with you as a new employee to teach you the ins and outs of being an Estate Agent, time they give to their clients as they start their new journey looking for a property or even selling theirs- they take the time to get to know each of their clients on a personal level and support them from the start to finish and even beyond that. (Take it from me as someone who knows about Customer Care… that is truly top notch service!)

2 weeks is still early days but I can say with absolute gusto, I hope that I have the opportunity for a long career with Sewell & Gardner. So, if starting employment within an Estate Agent interests you, then please do get in touch with our Head of Sales, Kate Woodward, on kate@sewellgardner.com
