Moving Into The Wood

I have been with Sewell & Gardner for a year now and throughout this year I have learnt so much about the property industry as a whole! When I started working at Sewell & Gardner I was based in our Watford branch, moving across to the Chorleywood branch at the beginning on 2016. Moving from a branch based in a busy town to one in a quiet village has been an exciting change to my career with the company.

Our company ethos is the same throughout all four of our branches, however, working in the Watford office and the Chorleywood office has its differences! To start with the average house value, according to Zoopla, in Watford is £395,882, whereas in Chorleywood it is £825,348. An astonishing £429,466 difference considering the short distance between the two areas! Watford attracts many first time buyers and commuters due to fantastic transport links into Central London. It is an up and coming area, with the refurbishment of the Intu Watford shopping centre and the Croxley rail link looking to give the area a real uplift. Chorleywood also attracts commuters and usually second hand buyers who have properties to sell in order to move into the area. Chorleywood is a very desirable place to live in Hertfordshire as it is surrounded by the rural countryside of the common and surrounding fields but still on the Metropolitan / Chiltern main line, making it accesible for those who commute into London for work purposes.

Based on data from the 2011 Census, Chorleywood had 12,948 residents living in the village and the population of Watford was 90,301, meaning the amount of property hitting the market in Watford is high and now in 2016 this is no exception! Many properties in Chorleywood do not even hit the internet for marketing as vendors often prefer to use our low key marketing option. If you’re not registered with Sewell & Gardner yet, please do not hesitate to give us a call and we will keep you fully updated with suitable properties for you.

The next few months are an exciting time for our team here in Chorleywood as we have our brand new office opening on Lower Road! Pop in for a chat and we hope we can find you your new home too!
